Dr Matt Free is an Australian and internationally trained orthopaedic surgeon with subspecialty expertise in knee surgery. He treats the full spectrum of knee conditions across all age groups, from sports-related injuries to degenerative conditions.

After completing orthopaedic training in Melbourne, Matthew undertook advanced international fellowship training in knee surgery at the Fowler Kennedy Sport Medicine Clinic in Canada and Aspetar Sports Medicine Hospital in Qatar, a FIFA-accredited global centre for elite sports injury management. He also completed advanced training in robotic knee replacement surgery in France. His areas of expertise include ACL reconstruction, complex ligament surgery, knee preservation procedures, including cartilage and meniscus repair, and both partial and total knee replacement.

Matthew is actively involved in clinical research with international collaborations and is committed to surgical education, contributing to the training of future orthopaedic surgeons.
